School IDs - flex teachers will be passing out student ids this week. (Teachers they are in your mailbox) When you get your new id please note that it includes a barcode that can be scanned as you go through the lunch line instead of punching in your number.

Reading Challenge Winner - Congratulations to Lilian Edwards for winning the October Reading Challenge for her review of the book “How it all Blew Up.” Lili won a gift card that she can pick up in the library. The challenge continues and you can win too! Here is how: 1. Read a book from the Lincoln Award nominee list. 2. Write your simple review of the book and email it to mundsb@cusd305.org or drop it off in the library. 3. Win a gift card! Each review will be entered into a monthly drawing from the library. Drawings for a gift card will be held on the last (school) day of the month.
On this Day: in 1941 after nearly 15 years of work, the Mount Rushmore National Memorial in the Black Hills of South Dakota was completed; the colossal sculpture features the heads of Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.

Service Club - There is a new volunteer opportunity picking up trash around Arthur on Tuesday, November 1st. Students can sign up online.
Blood Drive - Student Council is hosting a blood drive on Tuesday. Nov. 1 from 9:30-1:30 in the gym. Students 16 years and older are eligible to donate. Community members are welcome! Sign up online!

Boys Basketball - There will be a mandatory meeting for anyone who plans on playing Boys Basketball on Wednesday during Study Hall in Coach McGill's classroom. Please make sure you attend. Practice officially starts on Monday Nov. 7th.
Girls Basketball practice starts today and will be let out early (approx 4:50) so that students that want to can go cheer on the volleyball team at their sectional game. Girls will practice after school until 6:00 this week on days when the volleyball team is not playing. All are welcome and encouraged to try out for the team!
