Class of 2023 Families:
Good afternoon! We are starting our fourth week of your student’s senior year and you may be experiencing excitement, a bit of sadness and possibly be overwhelmed. Trust me when I say that graduation on Friday, May 26th will be here in a flash! Throughout the year, we will share important information with you regarding upcoming events as well as reminders. We will also post information on our social media sites - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and of course our website.
Mrs. Hart has been meeting with every senior for senior interviews. They go through their graduation checklist and talk about their plans for after high school. This is a good conversation topic for all of you.
Mrs. Hart is also having weekly meetings on Wednesdays during flex time for any senior needing help applying to college, etc. They are covering how to: complete college applications, send transcripts, choose a college, apply for scholarships and information on paying for college. She will also be helping seniors explore career opportunities. This is open to all seniors.
Today we are sharing a ton of information and resources for you and your student. You are going to need your pencil and calendar for all of this.
Picture Day is THIS WEDNESDAY!!! These pictures will be used for our yearbook, various graduation pictures, newspapers, etc. Bottom line, we need collared shirts and/or ties, dresses, etc. To place your order go to inter-state.com/order and use order code: 68922K
College Fairs - If your senior is working on what their plan might be after high school there are two area College Fairs that are open to the public and may help. There will be dozens of colleges from Illinois and surrounding states at these events. Your student has the fliers in their emails.

5:30 - 6:00 - Everything Senior
6:00 - 6:30 - College with Mrs. Hart
College Open Houses - Did you know on Monday, October 10th, many colleges have open houses! With no school that day, it's an easy opportunity to visit a school your student might be considering. Check college websites for information specific to their school.
Financial Aid Night - October 11th at 5:30 p.m. (lasts about 45 minutes) in the high school cafeteria. We are trying to get this moved a little earlier, so parents can still make the volleyball game at Tri-County.
FAFSA Completion - October 26th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Come and go as you need. Completing the FAFSA form is a state graduation requirement. The goal is to have this completed before Christmas break.
WOW .. that’s a lot! As always, call or email us with any questions or concerns. It’s an exciting time ….
