Hello Knight Family:
Wednesday is our official picture day for the yearbook and our student IDs. We love seeing everyone looking their best. To place your order go to inter-state.com/order and use order code: 68922KB. For the senior class, these pictures will be featured in various newspapers and graduation materials. We suggest seniors dress more formally compared to their previous school pictures. Acceptable outfits could include collared shirts and/or a tie, dresses, business casual blouses.
Is your student looking for a way to get involved? Every Tuesday from 3:15 - 4:30, Mrs. Renfro hosts Art Club! It is open to all students and I can promise you they will have a great time. Students may come any Tuesday and stay for as long as they wish. We have also started our game club. If your student is interested in playing board games and card games, this is the club for them. They meet on Wednesdays in Mr. Thomas's from 3:15 - 4:15. Last week their featured game was Werewolf. Students may see Mr. Bower or Mr. Thomas for more information.
This week we also started our Shining Knight program. This program recognizes students who have shown a positive impact on themselves, others, or their school. Some examples of this could be helping a teacher, another student, or improving their grades, etc. Students are nominated by their teachers. We will announce Shining Knights on Fridays during Flex Time. Each Shining Knight receives a cup with candy and 2 coupons--1 to get in free to any ALAH event and the other for free popcorn. Their name will be placed on the marquee all week as well as in the case in the Senior hallway. Plus they choose 1 additional prize which includes a pass for an entire week to go to the head of the lunch line, a reserved parking spot, a$5 Gift card to a local business, or a Knight T-shirt! It’s a great way for us to give a shout out to our students.
And finally, just a heads up that Homecoming 2022 is fast approaching. Here are a few things to know right now. We will keep updating you as the big events nears.
Homecoming Week is October 3rd - 8th.
Students will be choosing attendants and queen/king candidates on Monday.
The theme for Homecoming is “Wild, Wild West.”
Student Council will be selling t-shirts beginning Wednesday. Information will be in the announcements.
Coronation will be at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 8th.
In a strange series of events, we do NOT have school on Friday, October 7th. But we will still have a parade at 3 p.m. and a football game at 7 p.m.
Senior parents, check out the senior parent Facebook page for information about the senior parent float.
There will be float building, class games, hallway decorating and so much fun all week! We can hardly wait.
Mrs. Seegmiller
