Weekend Update

Hello Knight Family:

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Open House Thursday evening.  Believe it or not, when we set this date, our calendar was nearly empty!  Of course our calendar is never quiet for very long.  If your calendar was full, please know you are always welcome.  We may not be grilling hot dogs, but we love to have our families visit. And parent -teacher conferences will be here before we know it.  They are scheduled for the last week of October!

Beginning today every Friday (or the last day of the week) eligibility is run at 10 am. The eligibility list information is used to determine athletic participation, students that must stay for closed campus lunch, and attendance for study hall. You may check your student’s grades on Skyward at any time.  Eligibility is for the entire following week.  For example, if your student is on the eligibility list for one class today, they remain eligible for all of next week until the list is run again.  If you have any questions about this, please call us.  Your student should also be able to explain this to you as we have been talking about this and how to check grades during our FLEX periods.

On Tuesday we will return to our traditional 3:15 dismissal.  We are looking forward to our longer class periods with students.

This week’s email  is packed with information and if it leaves you with more questions than answers, feel free to call or email us!  seegmillers@cusd305.org or 217-543-2146.

Enjoy the long three day weekend!

Frequently asked question:

Who can leave during their lunch period?  Students must be passing ALL of their classes to have open campus lunch.  If a student is on the eligibility list for a failing grade, they will have Closed Campus Lunch. Closed Campus means that the student must stay in the cafeteria for their lunch period for the entire week.

Who can leave during 8th hour study hall?  Beginning on Tuesday, students that have a 70% in ALL of their classes may leave during study hall.  Parents must give permission for their student to leave campus during 8th hour study hall.  This was done in Skyward during registration.  If you have any questions or want to make changes to this, please call the office and we will help.

What are ideas for my student if they are struggling with a class?  Students may work with their specific teacher during 8th hour study hall any day of the week.  We also have the library set up as a math and writing center during 8th hour study hall.  There are peer tutors as well as math and English teachers assigned there to help students with questions.
