Parents of the Class of 2022:
On Wednesday evening last week we welcomed the Class of 2026 at Freshmen Orientation. I shared with the parents that this is the beginning of an incredibly fast paced journey. It seems like just yesterday that your students were walking into the gym for orientation themselves!
As you know from the last 23 months, there have been so many changes that impacted our traditional education and the changes happen faster than we can often keep up. With all of that being said, we wanted to share with you what we know right now about the big events that the Class of 2022 has looked forward to as their capstone experiences. As we know more, we will update you.
Graduation: Graduation is scheduled for Friday, May 27th at 7 p.m. on the football field. IF the weather prevents this we will host this in the gymnasium on Friday evening at 7 p.m. There will be rehearsals for this with pictures and all of these details will be shared with you in early May.
Cap & Gown: All students must have a cap & gown for graduation. If you haven’t already done so, please get the graduation robe ordered! Prices go up on Tuesday, February 15th. To order online click here. Scroll all the way to the bottom and select "Cap and Gown Unit." All you need to know is height and weight to place an order. You can also order by calling 217-817-0607.
Senior Trip: Our senior trip is scheduled for Saturday, April 30th through Thursday, May 5th. The buses and hotels are booked. We will make the decision in early March if we are able to travel. There are many factors that go into this decision including the rules and regulations of Washington DC. We are hoping by early March all of this will be more clear. If we aren’t able to go to Washington, DC, we will work together to develop other ideas/plans.
Prom: Prom is scheduled for Saturday, May 7th. The junior class is working hard on making plans and will be releasing this information soon. It will be outside and we are excited about making this the best prom yet!
May Events: May brings so many traditions including Honors Night, grade school visits, and those final days of high school. All of these details will be shared once we finish living through the potential snow days. Bottom line, stay tuned and we will keep you posted.
We are excited and believe we are going to be able to offer so many of our traditions for the Class of 2022. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me.
