Weekend Update

Hello Knight Family:

We have had a pretty exciting week at ALAH.  It began with decorated hallways, themed dress up days, float building and the long anticipated Friday full of Homecoming games and activities.  Thursday afternoon, I was able to have a sneak peek at our floats …WOW!  I am not sure I have ever seen such creative work.  EVERY class went all out.  I am thankful I was not a judge.  A huge shout out to our Student Council: Jace Green, Max Allen, Sarah Rafferty,Gavin Mechling, Quentin Day, Cassandra Diener, Kade Herschberger, Michaela Powell, Brady Moore, Chloe Franklin, Charley Condill, Ashley Seegmiller, Molly Appleby, Ava Binion, Wyatt Hilligoss, Nolan Schrock, Claire Seal, Evanger Wiley, Sarah Rogers, Zachary Snyder, Emma Bialliez, Kendall Burdick,Colton Taylor, Maddix Stirrett, Ryan Appleby, Emmalee Nall, Mitiku Appleby, Mackenzie Condill, Calahan Binion, Lilian Edwards, Kendall Schrock, Skyler Vorck, Ross Young and their sponsor, Mrs. Sluder for their endless hours of work.

A few reminders about the Homecoming Dance:

  • The dance will be held in the west parking lot under a tent.

  • The photographer will begin taking pictures at 7pm for individual orders.

  • Coronation is at 7:30.

  • The dance will be from 8-10:30.

  • Cost is $10 per person and paid at the door.

  • Masks are optional while outside under the tent, but required if going inside to use the restroom.  Bottom line .. students should have a mask with them… just in case.

  • Students that leave the dance will not be allowed to return.

One of my favorite activities of Homecoming Week is the annual Alumni tour.  It takes place after the parade and is really a simple event.  Alumni have the opportunity to take a tour of the building with me. It is so fun to hear their stories and listen to them talk about what has changed and what hasn’t.  They often end up looking at past yearbooks and sometimes stay for hours to talk. I always think that someday all too quickly our current Knights will morph into graduates and be on this tour talking about the memories they created this week.

And finally, news not related to Homecoming, the juniors will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday.  Junior parents will receive an email with more details.  This is an important test and we are excited for our juniors to have this opportunity.  Also, our Leadership Class is planning Dig Pink Week for the third week of October and Parent/Teacher Conferences are right around the corner.  Always something happening at ALAH !
