Hello Knight Families:

Next Friday is our global pandemic version of Homecoming.  We are scheduled to play Tri-County @ 7 p.m.  We will also be celebrating our senior football players, band and color guard members and cheerleaders before the kick-off.  Our student body has voted on a Homecoming Court and we will crown our King and Queen after the game. Congratulations to the 2020-2021 Homecoming Court which includes Freshman Attendants: Kendall Burdick and Garrett Casteel,  Sophomore Attendants: Ashley Seegmiller and Nathaniel VanMeter,  and Junior Attendants: Brook Tucker and Zack Woodard.  Our Queen Candidates are Mackenzi Bowles, Makenzie Brown, Adriana Burton and Erin Schrock.  Our King Candidates are Brayden Borntregor, Jack Martin, Austin Plank and Jamison Rocke. The students will vote for their favorite king and queen next week.

We are looking for golf carts for Friday night.  If you have a golf cart we could borrow during the football game, please call the office at 543-2146.  Last week I mentioned that the guidelines had changed, easing our restrictions.  They have changed again this week and we are hopeful that the newest guidelines, called The Bridge,  will be officially implemented soon by ISBE, IDPH and IHSA. It feels like there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Currently we have been able to implement the following for football games and are working on revising the plan for home volleyball games.  As always, stay tuned for the ever changing updates.  For Friday, March 26th’s football game, every football player, marching band, color guard and cheerleader will receive two tickets. These  tickets are $3 for adults, $2 for students and $2 for senior citizens.  ALAH HS students will also have the opportunity to receive a free student ticket.  We are excited that the guidelines have allowed us to begin to have fans.  We are hopeful that the positive changes will keep coming, bringing our normal back soon.

The Class of 2024 has started their class fundraiser and are selling cookie dough!  Yummo!  Who can’t use a little extra cookie dough.

On Wednesday after school we will be having our sport pictures for the current season.  This will include volleyball, soccer and football . Students need to bring their uniforms.

There is a Marching Band rehearsal on Thursday night from 6 to 8 p.m.  We are excited that they are putting together a performance for our three home football games. Their show is called, The Grand Expedition, taking the audience on a journey from sea to land to space and featuring music from the Pirates of the Caribbean, Avatar, and Star Wars.  Mr. Wood has written the drill for the show.  In order to follow the guidelines, we are limiting movement to help students maintain six feet social distancing. Because of the restrictions on changing and the spring weather, the marching band will be wearing their new hoodies instead of uniforms.  Our seniors chose a class color of teal for their hoodies, to help them celebrate their final marching season. Almost feels like normal times, right?!

All of this and we are still working hard in our classrooms.  It’s certainly a good time to be a Knight.  #GoKnights!
