Good evening Knight Families:
We have gone from not much going on outside of our school hours to things are hopping. Last night our girls finished their basketball season with a big win over Tuscola and the boys are heading to Warrensburg-Latham tonight for their final basketball game. We have started football practice, volleyball practice and already have our first soccer match in the books! Soccer tied 1 to 1 against the Blue Ridge Knights. It was a great match and felt so good to be outside. Our first football game is just a week from tonight. It’s certainly a good time to be a Knight. #GoKnights!
The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) along with IDPH have released new guidelines that are beginning to ease some of our restrictions. As we work through these and the latest IHSA guidelines, please watch your email and our social media posts for the latest. It seems to be changing each day.
Earlier this semester our high school students participated in the annual Auxiliary Americanism Essay. Most of them wrote this in their history classes. This year’s prompt was “How to Promote Old-Fashioned Patriotism While Recognizing Where We Have Fallen Short.” The winners for 2021 are Class II Freshman-Sophomore: 1st Place-Austyn Scroggins, 2nd Place-Kailee Otto, and 3rd Place-Lucy Duran. Class III Junior-Senior winners: 1st Place-Brooke Clark, 2nd Place-Annika Beachy, and 3rd Place Tie-Jace Green and Mallory Nichols. Congratulations!
Our third quarter grades are posted in Skyward. With the fourth quarter started, we want to take a moment to let everyone know that we WILL be having final exams in May. Our exam days are May 25 and May 26. Every student will take a final exam and the grade WILL count for 20% of their overall grade. Exemptions are on page 13 of the student handbook.
Enjoy the weekend!
