Hello Knight Family:
Are you surviving the unpredictable winter weather? Whether it’s extreme cold, ice, snow, or maybe even an early spring, the high school remains a hub of learning and activities. Today marks our 100th day of school, and we are officially more than halfway through the school year. I know some of you might feel like we’ve had 100 days in January alone with how hard winter weather has hit us! Actually, we’ve only been in school for 11 ½ days so far this month—hard to believe, right? Excluding future snow days, we’re looking at a total of 16 ½ school days in January and 18 ½ days in February. That is really not very many days of school, which might explain why this semester always seems to move so quickly. Consistent attendance is crucial for student success. Let’s keep working together to ensure your student is present, engaged, and ready to learn. Remember: 80% attendance is not just a number; it’s the foundation for academic and personal growth.
Starting Monday, your student must be passing all their classes to have the privilege of leaving school for lunch. Please remind them of this important policy. Additionally, all students will still be required to stay for study hall next week.
As we wrap up January, there are a few fun and random events to help us finish the month on a high note. Did you know that January celebrates some unusual days? For example, Monday is National Bubble Wrap Day, Tuesday is National Kazoo Day, Thursday is National Puzzle Day, and Friday is National Hot Chocolate Day! Between these quirky celebrations, Freshman Orientation, and our Thursday home game for the girls—where FFA will be hosting a canned food drive—it’s shaping up to be an exciting week.
Our final week of January will be our best week of the month!
