Hello Knight Family:

This week we celebrated SEVEN IL State Scholars, Mackenzie Condill, Lilian Edwards, Sara Hershberger, Rialynn Slaughter, Maddix Stirrett, Danaysha Stutzman and Jacob Tighe; our Rotary October Student of the Month Leighton Poulos; and our DAR and SAR winners Alayna Plank and Sara Herschberger.  In addition, Ruby Burton is headed to the State Cross Country meet in Peoria tomorrow morning and our Knights Football team is headed to the second round of play-offs at Quincy Notre Dame with kick off at 2 p.m.  Did you know that Ruby is our first female to compete at the state finals meet for ALAH? #GoKnights

The Drama Club has announced that they will be performing the musical Mamma Mia in the spring!  Students are beyond excited and auditions for everything from actors, musicians, choreographers, to directors will be starting soon.  Your student may check their email or see Ms. Rund for more information.  And speaking of the drama club, the fall play is fast approaching.  Mutually Assured Destruction:  10 plays About Brothers And Sisters will be performed on Friday, November 22nd at 7 p.m. and Sunday, November 24th at 2 p.m.

Beginning next week, the Class of 2025 will be having a fundraiser, selling cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls and pumpkin butter just in time for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  If you are wondering how much  your student has earned towards their senior trip, check in Skyward.  This updated information is located in Skyward under the “Senior Fundraising Tile”.

Our junior parents are working to plan their post prom activities!  Although prom is still six months away, the planning has already begun.  Their goal is to offer students that attend prom a safe, fun, activity filled night after the dance has concluded.  It is planned and totally funded by the post prom committee and fundraisers and donations from our communities.  If you are interested in helping the committee or making a donation, please reach out to junior parents Heather Miller and Shawn Vanausdoll at the State Bank of Arthur.

On Monday, our day is designed to help students understand more about the sacrifice our veterans have made and why this day is so important to our country.  During our program, students will be involved in our program with the Military Service Club and FFA members posting and retiring our flags, and FFA members will also lead the program.  Our band and chorus members have been rehearsing for weeks to enhance our program.  We will be honoring WWII Veteran, Wally Kistler and looking forward to hearing from Mr. Gunnar Edwards, who fought in Afghanistan.  We hope you will join us for our program on Monday at 1:15 p.m. in the west gym.
