Hello Knight Family:

Tuesday, November 5th is Election Day.  The Illinois State Board of Education requires public K-12 schools to be closed on this day. So remember to not send your student to school on Tuesday.  I am sharing a video to continue to show some of the challenges that the high school building creates for students and staff.  We hope this video is helpful and provides some insight.  Please feel free to share the video.  More information regarding the referendum is on our website (on the top right corner) or at district305future.com.

We would like to invite all of our families to our Veterans Day luncheon and program.  On Monday, November 11th, we will pay tribute to all of the brave men and women who have served or continue to serve our country.  Our Family Consumer Science students will prepare and serve a luncheon, followed by a program.  The program will feature our students from our Military Service Club, FFA, Band, and Chorus.  We are especially honored to welcome Mr. Gunnar Edwards as our 2024 guest speaker.  Mr. Edwards served our nation with distinction in the U.S. Army from 2010 to 2018, including a deployment to Afghanistan.  We are also privileged to honor Mr. Wally Kistler, our very own WWII veteran, for his remarkable service to our country during our program.

Schedule of Events:

  • Lunch provided by FCCLA in the east gym

    • Arrival at 11:30 a.m., lunch served at 12:00 p.m.

  • Veterans Day Assembly in the west gym

    • Program begins at 1:15 p.m.

You and your family are warmly invited to attend both the luncheon and/or the assembly.  Please RSVP by November 4th by calling the high school office at 217-543-2146.  As you may remember from last week, we are moving "Wall of Stars", which highlights our Veterans, to a digital version.  Everyone is  invited to complete this form and share with us Veterans that are connected to your family and our community.

Our volleyball team left it all on the floor at the regional championship game in Maroa last night.  Their loss brings a close to their season and it is always sad for our seniors to finish their final season.  Our girls Cross Country Team runs tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. at Lake Land College in their sectional competition and our football team takes on North Mac at 1 p.m. for the first round of playoffs!  #GoKnights
