Hello Knight Family:

It has been a busy week at ALAH.  Almost 50 of our FFA students attended the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis this week, with around 14 spending three days alongside others from across the country. We also had a choral trip to EIU for their Harmony Festival, band members who participated in the Millikin Honor’s Band, and a group of students who attended a Future Educators Workshop at Millikin University.  Additionally, our Broadcasting Class traveled to Eberhardt Village to record and interview a 97-year-old WWII Veteran in preparation for our Veterans Day activities.  On top of all that, we hosted a financial aid night for Class of 2025 parents, while cheerleading, volleyball, football, marching band, and cross-country practice continued.  And, of course, let’s not forget the reason we’re all here—learning civics, algebra, English, and biology!  Although Friday and Saturday are packed with more practices and competitions, we hope your student enjoyed a little break in the routine.

Next week, our Student Council is sponsoring a Halloween Spirit Week with dress up.  Our dress up days are listed below, but make sure to specifically check out Tuesday.  It is not only the Student Council Blood Drive but also Vampire Day!  You just have to love our creative students in Student Council.  On Thursday, they will host our annual Halloween Costume Contest. This year categories include best makeup, funniest, most original, best DIY and best group!

We are hard at work preparing for our Veterans Day Luncheon and Program on Monday, November 11th.  We are working to add new traditions.  If you have a Veteran who is important to your family, please consider completing this form.  We are planning a video display and a field of flags!  We would love to have you join us for our program on Monday, November 11th @ 1:15 pm in the west gym.  Please call the office for more information or to make reservations for our luncheon.

And finally, don’t miss the chance to cheer on our Knights this weekend!  With so many big events happening, it’s shaping up to be an exciting weekend.  Our football team is  playing for the LPC Conference championship in Sullivan on Friday night, Cross Country runs in their regional competition in Shelbyville in the morning, our volleyball teams are in two tournaments and our Marching Band competes in a night parade in Pinckneyville!  #GoKnights
