Hello Knight Family:

We are near the halfway point of our first semester.  Please talk with your student and check Skyward to see your student’s grades, missing assignments and attendance.  If you have any questions, just email your student’s teacher and if you are having trouble logging into Skyward, please call the office for help. Parent teacher conference information will be coming out late next week!

Our leadership class with the help of Mr. Smith created a video to thank Arthur Police Chief, Mike Goodman for his service and congratulating him on his retirement!  You can check out the video here or on our youtube channel @ Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond High School Channel.  This is also a great place to see Mr. Cheek’s podcast, graduation and other events.

On Friday, October 11th, there is no school for students.  Our faculty and staff will be attending the Regional Office of Education’s (ROE) Institute day with over 2,500 other educators.  The day includes a keynote speaker and over 80 breakout sessions throughout the day.   There is a home football game as we take on the Cerro Gordo Broncos and the FFA Alumni will be having their annual pork chop dinner on the fairgrounds.

Our website has up to date and accurate information regarding the upcoming referendum in November.  If you have been wondering what the referendum is all about, this is the spot for you.  The website includes details on what will be done, layouts, videos, FAQs, a tax calculator, and a place to submit questions.  This is available for anyone in our communities, not just our  families.  Please feel free to share.  We have two more Open Houses on October 15th and October 30th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  These are open to anyone and provide you the opportunity to walk through the building or ask any questions.

Knights travel to Nokomis tonight, marching band is marching in the EIU Homecoming parade tomorrow, and soccer plays at Wilson Field at 11.  It is another packed weekend for the Knights.

Before we know, October will be turning into November.
