Hello Knight Family:
We appreciate your patience with our schedule adjustments this last week. Our building was absolutely roasting. Many of our classrooms had real temperatures in the mid to upper 80s and when you add in the humidity, well, miserable is the adjective that comes to mind. Next week the temperatures look so much better.
Speaking of hot weather, we were scheduled to have our annual Knights’ Fest. Here is the latest, yesterday we made the decision to reschedule the inflatables and zipline to a future home game. The forecasted heat in the afternoon and the potential for rain are not providing us with ideal weather conditions. We plan on having the inflatables and zipline prior to a future home football game. Food trucks will be on-site for tomorrow's game. Come hungry and help cheer the Knights to victory vs. Argenta-Oreana! Gates will open at 5:45 pm #GoKnights
On Tuesday, we will have a school assembly during study hall where we will introduce our all school fundraiser, selling Discount Cards. The discount cards have over 20 local businesses that provide discounts when you show them. The cards are $20 and your student earns $10 per card. Our goal is to sell 850 cards. The money your student earns goes towards their senior trip money. Here is a snapshot from our Senior Trip Flier. Although we sell the discount cards the entire year, there is an incentive program that runs from September 3 - 20th to kick start the program.
Today is the first time we are running eligibility for the 2024-2025 school year. Eligibility will run in order for us to meet the IHSA rules regarding athletics and a good way to help monitor student’s grades. If your student is on the eligibility list that means they are earning an F in one class. They will remain on the list for the entire week Monday through Saturday. You will automatically receive a text and an email from our all call system. Your student’s classroom teacher will also be in contact with you via email or phone call. We encourage you to talk with your students and reach out to their teacher. Students who are passing all of their classes have the privilege of having open campus lunch. This opportunity starts on Tuesday.
Since we didn’t have flex or study hall this last week, we will be offering this fun opportunity for students to bring in their water bottles, jeans, hats, notebooks, etc. to decorate next week. This station was a huge success during our Knights’ Carnival last week and we have loads of extra supplies. Encourage your students to bring in their items to decorate!
