Hello Knight Family:
We had two field trips on this snowy day. Our Biology and Survey of Science students attended the 2024 Science FebFest at Eastern Illinois University. The students went from class to class to participate in learning opportunities. They explored genetic history with DNA testing, a visit to a cadaver lab, fish identification, Herpetology, medicinal plants, brain anatomy and a fun chant competition between schools to bring home a traveling trophy!
Our Physics students and a few members of our science club attended Purdue University’s annual Bridge Bust competition. Students have been researching, planning and building bridges to prepare. They will present their research and the design of their bridge and that will be judged along with the bridges’ appearance and the weight it will support before it breaks. Scholarship money is earned for the top three students in each category! We have seriously smart science students!

IMPORTANT: On Sunday, February 18, the Moultrie County Sheriff’s Department in partnership with other local law enforcement will be using our high school building for training. The building is closed to EVERYONE except those participating in the drill on Sunday! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
