Hello Knight Family:
We began a new tradition today with the Corn Bowl Classic that turned out to be way more than just a couple of basketball games. This morning our Knights Cheer Team kicked off our day with a pep rally that involved ‘Masked Singers’ who blew us away, and then during the games our pep band kept the gym alive, our mascot constantly entertained us and we had two giant wins! (Make sure you ask your student who the masked singers were!) We finished our afternoon with board games, movies and a huge Farmer Ball competition. Our students were great hosts to Cerro Gordo/Bement and incredibly well behaved on such a chaotic day. Sometimes we need more than a day of academics.
On Monday during our girls basketball game the Regional Office of Education will be here to help anyone interested in signing up to become a substitute teacher. If you or someone you know is interested, please come sign up in the gym foyer after 6 p.m.
Next week our sophomores and seniors will be taking the Illinois Youth Survey during their flex period. On Thursday we have an early dismissal at 1:00 p.m. for our School Improvement Day and no school on Monday, January 15th!
Remember to watch our social media posts for last minute schedule changes. It is officially winter in central Illinois after all! We are off and running in 2024.
