Hello Knight Family:
If you aren’t following us on social media, now would be a great time to get on board. With Homecoming Week starting, I am confident there will be multiple posts sharing the excitement of the week. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, and X( formerly known as Twitter). Encourage your student to dress up for our spirit days:
Homecoming Spirit Days next week:
Monday: Senior Citizen
Tuesday: Bikers vs Surfers
Wednesday: Group/Duo
Thursday: Hawaiian Beach vacation
Friday: Knights gear!
Monday through Thursday next week we will run each class for the same amount of time, but we are combining flex and study hall periods at the end of the day. During that time students will be able to work on homework or activities for Homecoming Week. We are hoping that this will allow more students the opportunity to be involved with their class activities. Our class officers are organizing different groups of students to work on floats during this time, so we don’t have 300 students building at the same time! Study hall is MANDATORY for ALL STUDENTS next week!
On Friday, September 29 we have a REGULAR 3:13 dismissal. Our traditional Homecoming Parade starts at 2:00. We have built a creative schedule to include all students in the fun. The details of our Friday schedule are below and the important information for you to know is that on Monday you will receive a Google form so you can tell us what your student is doing during the parade. For example, your student might be marching with the band or on the volleyball float or an attendant for the Homecoming Court. If your student is NOT in the parade, your student will remain at school with us and we will watch the parade together. Our shuttle buses will be running at the regular times. We are asking every parent to complete this form on Monday to help us know where every student is! Please note this is a regular day of school attendance for your student and their attendance is required until 3:13. Thank you in advance for communicating with us and helping keep everything organized and running smoothly.
Remember that Discount Card order forms and money are due on Tuesday! Another easy way to earn money for the senior trip is to work concession stands during our home events. Last year students earned $110 for every shift they worked! That is seriously a lot of candy and pulled pork nachos. If your student can’t work, we do welcome parents to work on their behalf. Call the office @ 217-543-2146 to schedule a night that you would be willing to sell candy and soda!
