Hello Knight Family:
It’s here … our first Friday night under the lights and we are going BIG!
Knights Fest is from 4-7 pm on the practice field with food trucks (Kona Ice, Slow Spark BBQ, Sizzlin Tizzler, Sweeteaz), Inflatables and Zipline! Our National Honor Society is even making the famous lemonade shake ups! Wristbands are $10 for unlimited access on inflatables, zipline and entrance to the football game. Kick off is at 7 p.m. where we will face our Lincoln Prairie Conference opponent the Villa Grove Blue Devils. During halftime our Marching Knights will show off the start of their competition show and we will recognize our Academic A Letter winners along with a student who beat the state SAT average and earned a reserved parking spot in the ALAH lot for the entire school year. And of course our rocking concession stand will be stocked and grilling and serving our famous Pulled Pork Nachos. Remember, all of our concession stand profits go to your student’s senior class trip account so it is great food for a great cause.
We have decided to not run eligibility this week due to the shortened schedule last week. What does this really mean to you and your student? Grades for your student’s eligibility for IHSA events won’t start until Friday, September 8th impacting the week of September 11th. This also means that the privilege to leave for 8th hour study hall will NOT start until the week of September 11th. Just as a reminder students may leave for study hall if all of their grades are above a 70% with your permission, that you gave when registering your student. Students are always welcome to stay in study hall to receive extra help from a teacher or work on their homework. Our math and writing center will also be open soon, which provides students help every day on any math or writing assignment. Students are always required to stay for study hall if there is a class meeting or organization meeting or by request of their teacher.
