ALAH Weekend Update

Hello Knight Family:

Even our four day weeks are packed! We have had a Student Council sponsored PickleBall Tournament, baseball, softball and track have been fighting the weather but still playing.

Last week our Marketing class began their fundraising challenge.  The class must create, design, order and sell a product.  They work in groups and are selling sword keychains, knights sunglasses, and t-shirts with the District 305 map on the back. Watch our social media for links to purchase.

Next week is the week we have been preparing for all year long.  On Wednesday, April 12th, our freshmen and sophomores will be taking the state PSAT 9 and PSAT 10 and our juniors will be taking the SAT.  These are all state mandated tests and we use these results to evaluate our curriculum and effectiveness.  Let’s be honest, testing can be a drag for everyone involved.  However, it is extremely important that all of our students try their best.  Getting a good night’s sleep, eating a good breakfast, and going into the test with a positive attitude will help!  The cafeteria will be serving egg, sausage, and cheese biscuits or ham/cheese bagels! Yummo! We have multiple incentives to help motivate students.  Freshman and sophomores will have an hour long lunch after testing is complete followed by an afternoon of movies/games.  Juniors are allowed to leave for the day when their testing is over. On Thursday, our juniors take the state science assessment and are allowed to leave when everyone is finished.  These tests are a great time for our students to show off all of their hard work.

Although Wednesday isn’t an exciting day for some of our student body, it is a really great day to be a senior as we have a workshop planned for them to cover all the final details for graduation along with an etiquette workshop.  We will finish the day as guests of the Arthur Rotary Club for lunch.  A good day to be in the Class of 2023!

Speaking of seniors, we can’t begin to thank everyone for their support in our final fundraiser!  We sold 777 pans of cinnamon rolls, dined at LaCascada and received a percentage of the profits, and had some incredibly generous donations from families, friends and community members.  In addition LaCascada has again graciously offered to provide us with 20% of their profits today, Friday and Saturday! We just can’t begin to thank everyone for all of their support and help.

Have a great Easter weekend!

Mrs. Seegmiller
