Weekly Wrap

Happy Friday!

It is hard for me to believe that this is the last weekly message I will give for 2021! Winter break is upon us and I want to take a moment to wish all of you a very happy holiday season. I really like to take this time to reflect on what has gone on so far this year.

First and foremost I want to thank our teachers and staff. They came into this year thinking it would be relatively normal. Just like a lot of things in the last year and a half we found out quickly that "normal" was not what we got. Teachers have continued to amaze me each day. They adapt on the fly and they are constantly looking for ways to help our students. They are exhausted and overwhelmed, but they keep showing up for our kids. If you have not had a chance to thank your child's teacher I encourage you to do so. They are the rockstars that keep us moving forward. On top of everything else, they are continuing to work and grow professionally. During SIP days they are working on curriculum mapping and identifying priority standards. They are creating roadmaps for our district and working to identify gaps in the curriculum that need to be addressed. They NEVER stop working. I am so proud of all of our staff and continue to be grateful for them each day.

I also want to thank our community and our parents. You have all endured the changes we have had to made in our procedures. You have worked with us to keep our doors open. You have supported us when we have to call and have children picked up and you have been patient with all of the changes that keep happening. Thank you for your support.

Lastly, I want to thank our students. They show up each day and work hard. They follow our policies and procedures and make the best of each day. They are the energy that keeps the building going. They are the reason we are here and the reason we keep pushing forward. Our kids deserve a lot of recognition for the hard work they have put in.

I hope that all of you enjoy your winter break! I look forward to seeing faces back in the new year! I feel like we will finish this school year strong!
