Tormrrow marks the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on America. On Setpember 11, 2001-, almost 3,000 people were killed in the largest terrorist attack on American soil. The attacks started at 8:46 a.m. when American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Just 17 minutes later, United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the World Trade Center’s South Tower. The 9/11 attacks weren’t limited to New York. Flight 77 crashed into the western façade of the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m. A fourth plane crashed in a Pennsylvania field when the passengers and crew attempted to regain control from the terrorists. During this attack we saw America rise together to help those in need. We saw people reach out to their neighbors and stand together to help rebuild our nation. Today at AHGS the students and staff joined me in a moment of silence to remember all of those men and women that lost their lives on this tragic day. To remember all of the men and women that sacrificed themselves to help others in need. To remember all of the police officers, firefighters, and first responders that stopped what they were doing to go in and rescue Americans. After the moment of silence we stood together to sing "God Bless the USA." I don't know that I have ever been more proud to be the leader here at AHGS. Listening to our students and staff stand together and sing a song that means so much to our nation made me speechless. It is a great day to be a KNIGHT!
