ALAH Knights,
We are joining other schools throughout Illinois in showing our support of our senior student athletes, as well as the healthcare workers, first responders and all other essential employees working through this pandemic as a part of the Light for the Fight campaign started by the Illinois High School Association (IHSA).
For our students and families, even though we are not currently together, we still support one another and continue to be a KNIGHTS family. We will recognize our seniors by turning on the lights at the football field/track, baseball field and softball field south and west of the high school on Friday, April 17th 2020 from 8:00-8:20 pm.
We invite the community to drive by our fields on Friday evening during this time to share this experience with us and honor our students. We ask that you do not leave your vehicles during this time in an effort to follow social distancing guidelines.
Thank you to the Arthur Park District for joining us in this cause.

Arthur CUSD #305 is continuing to provide food for our students during our school closure.
Each week, in order to make sure we have enough meals, please complete the form below for your children who attend school in our school district who would like to request 5 days of meals (breakfast and lunch) during our emergency school closure. There will be no charge for these meals for any student.
The pickup date for this pre-order is Monday, April 20 from 9-11 am. Please place your order by noon this Thursday, April 16. Make sure to pick up at the school you select in the form.

Good Afternoon Atwood-Hammond Grade School families. Meal distribution will be Monday, April 13 from 9-11 am. If you are picking up meals during that time we will continue to put your updated learning packets in with your meals. When you come to pick up meals please bring your child’s completed work. If you can put it in either a ziplock bag or a walmart bag with your child’s name, grade, and homeroom teacher on the front that would be appreciated! We will make sure it gets to the correct teacher. If you are not picking up meals we ask that you come get your child’s updated learning packets and return completed work anytime from 3-5 pm on Monday, April 13. Again, if you can place your child’s completed work in some sort of bag with their name, grade, and homeroom teacher on the front that would be wonderful.
Remember, both procedures will be run as a drive through. We ask that you come into the East parking lot. A staff member will be out there to “check” you in and we will bring materials to your car. In order to practice social distancing we ask that you just open your trunk and we will place materials in the trunk. If we cannot get into your trunk we can place things in the backseat or hand them to you through the window. Please have your child’s completed work in a bag in the trunk or ready to hand through the window as well. This helps ensure that when we deliver the meals and/or updated packets we can retrieve the completed work without making physical contact as well.

In addition, the IESA Organizational Music Contest has been cancelled for this spring. Keep practicing on your own while continuing best standards for social distancing.
Recieved word today from the IESA that the state Scholastic Bowl and Track and Field finals this spring have been cancelled. Thank you to all the coaches and students that have dedicated your time and efforts in preparation for the season. We have great thing in store for us!

Today it was announced by Governor Pritzker that the stay at home order has been extended through April 30. Please check your emails, social media, and our website for links to the forms to order the food pantry delivery for this Friday morning and a separate form for the breakfast and lunch pickup for next Monday, April 6. Both of these are free to all families in our district and need to be filled out each week for planning purposes. Please make sure to sign up for both of these by this Thursday, April 2 at noon.
