AITCOY - Offers a $500 undergraduate scholarship for two high school seniors who plan on attending a four year college. Applicant must have service, a B average, demonstrate leadership qualities and plan on majoring in social work, counseling, psychology, youth recreation, youth prevention or sociology. America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders - Apply for a $1500 scholarship sponsored by Monsanto Fund. Must be continuing your education in an ag-related field of study. Students need not be FFA members to apply. Applications accepted from November 1, 2023 - January 11, 2024. Apply online at www.ffa.org/scholarships. (updated November 2023)

American Legion - The American Legion offers many different scholarships. Scholarship opportunities can be found on the IL Legion website and the national American Legion website. Legion Deadlines vary with some as early as March 15. (updated Jan 2024)

Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Scholarships - One application for 6 different scholarships. Some require family member to have been a member of the Illinois Scottish Rite Valley. Applications are available at http://www.aasrdanville.org/scholarships. Applicants should have a B average. BLDD Architects Scholarships - This scholarship is available for seniors who are pursuing careers in architecture, interior design, or graphic design. Visit https://bit.ly/bldd_scholarships to apply. Deadline is March 31, 2024. (updated December 2023)

Children of Warriors National President's Scholarship - Candidates for this award shall be daughters, sons, grandsons, granddaughters, great-granddaughters, great-grandsons of veterans who served in the Armed Forces. Apply here - Deadline March 1 (updated Nov 2023)

The Christie Foundation - In collaboration with Parkland College, the Christie Foundation will award 20 Health Professions scholarships for the 2018 fall semester. Students must be full-time in a health profession degree program, a resident of District 505, have a GPA of 3.0 (ACT/SAT requirement for incoming freshman), and demonstrate work and/or volunteer experience in health professions. Coles-Moultrie Electric Cooperative Scholarship Program - CMEC will be giving six scholarships. Priority will be given to one applicant specializing in Electrical Technology. All applicants must be either a Coles-Moultrie member or under 21 years of age and a legal dependent of a Coles-Moultrie member. Applicant must be enrolled in either a 2 or 4 year degree program at an accredited institution in Illinois. Applicant cannot have previously received a Coles-Moultrie Electric Cooperative scholarship and employees, directors, and any of their dependents are ineligible. Application. Applications must be received at Cole-Moultrie's office (104 Dewitt Avenue East, P.O. DCFS  - The Department is currently accepting applications for the 2024 Department of Children and Family Services Scholarship Program. The DCFS Scholarship Program provides 53 scholarships each year; four of which are awarded to children of veterans. The Department must have court-ordered legal responsibility for the applicant, the applicant must have aged out of the Department’s care at age 18 or older, the Department must have had legal responsibility for the applicant prior to the adoption being finalized, or the applicant must be in the Subsidized Guardianship Program. Dean Ritter Trust for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - For the 2017-2018 school year, the Dean Ritter Trust will be awarding scholarships in varying amounts between $1000 and $8000 each. Applicants must be a resident of Illinois, a high school senior in good standing, have a significant hearing loss in one or both ears, and exhibit financial need. The applications can be downloaded at http://www.deanritter.org/. Daily Farm Scholarship - Must be enrolled in an agricultural field at Lake Land College, in the college of ACES at the University of Illinois, or a music major at Millikin University, be a resident of Coles or Moultrie counties, and be a full-time student. Applications are available at here. Applicants must first create an account to apply. This a renewable scholarship. For previous years winners, please be aware this is a new process. The Elizabeth Ann Weidner Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship honors the life and legacy of Elizabeth Ann Weidner who changed the world. Elizabeth first and foremost was a faithful servant of God, she valued her family and friends, she worked tirelessly as a childhood cancer advocate at the local/state/national level despite her own battles with the disease from the age of 12 until her death at 17! Service to others was a core principle for her daily life pursuits. Given the chance she intended to become a pediatric oncology nurse. Criteria: High School Seniors pursuing a Secondary Education preferably in the areas of health, agriculture, or the arts.  Special consideration will be given to families affected by cancer. Farm Credit Agriculture Scholarship - Thirty $2500 scholarships will be award to high school seniors who plan to enroll in an agriculture-based college curriculum. Apply online at www.farmcreditIL.com by February 29, 2024. (updated Feb 2024)

Fred S. Bailey Scholarship at the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign-This scholarship program is a university YMCA program. Incoming freshmen, sophomores, and juniors at UIUC are eligible to receive an award of $3000 one time. As seniors, students may apply for the Bailey Leadership Awards. Eligibility is based on demonstrated commitment to service, community involvement, leadership, and awareness as well as demonstrated academic achievement and critical thought about the pressing issues facing the world today and financial need. GFWC Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs - A scholarship is available in each of the following areas: Art, Drama, Music, Vocational, and Health & Wellness. Golden Apple Scholar - The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois is a scholarship program that identifies talented high school seniors who have the promise and drive to be excellent teachers in schools-of-need in Illinois. We prepare them for immediate and lasting success in the most challenging teaching environments. We are more than a scholarship program that only awards funding. We provide four years of paid residential summer institutes, which give students on-site classroom experience, as well as mentoring from Golden Apple award-winning teachers. IAA Foundation Scholarship - The IAA Foundation endeavors to enhance the future of agriculture by providing college scholarships to Illinois Farm Families, Illinois Farm Bureau members, spouses, or their children who major in agriculture, agribusiness, or an ag-related course of study. The IAA Foundation is pleased to administer scholarships on behalf of agricultural partners and families who wish to support future generations and help assure a well-qualified and professional agricultural workforce in Illinois while supporting farming communities. The IAA Foundation is pleased to offer 110 awards totaling $192,500. Illinois Chemical Education Foundation - ICEF presents a number of $2,000 scholarships to top high school seniors seeking degrees in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or High School Chemistry Teaching. Illinois Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Scholarships - Several scholarships are available for students who are residents of Illinois and citizens of the United States. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of financial need and scholastic ability. Applicants must have a GPA of "C" or above with plans to attend an accredited college or trade school. Go to  ioof-il.org to complete the application by March 1. (updated February 2024)

Illinois Retired Teacher Association Foundation - Applicant must be junior or senior in college enrolled in a teacher certification program. Scholarship recipient shall receive a grant of $750 each semester for one year. Apply here. Illinois Sheriff's Association - The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association will be awarding over 100 scholarships, one from each county, throughout the State of Illinois to students wishing to pursue higher education. The student must be an Illinois resident and enrolling full-time at a Illinoiscollege/university. Applications are available at https://www.ilsheriff.org/youth-2/. Illinois Society of Professional Engineers -

The Champaign Chapter of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers is sponsoring a $2500 scholarship to a qualified central Illinois high school senior. To be eligible, the candidate should be accepted into an engineering programat a college or university. Application due by March 29, 2024. (updated February 2024)

Jim and Millie Smith Scholarship - There is no application for the Jim and Millie Smith Scholarship. The family will decide each year if they wish to present one or more scholarships to members of the current senior class.

Kids Chance, Inc. of Illinois - To be eligible for a scholarship grant, applicants must have a parent who has been killed or seriously injured as a result of a work related accident that meets the criteria of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act and that has resulted in demonstrated financial need. Lake Land College Foundation Scholarships- Applications for the LLC Foundation scholarship are now available at https://www.lakelandcollege.edu/scholarship-opportunities/ The four short essay questions on the application are very important. Applicants should carefully answer the questions in detail and proof their work. Only one application is required to be considered for all Foundation scholarships. Applications are available beginning November 1 and are due February 1. (updated October 2022)

Parkland College Foundation Scholarships - This scholarship is available for students planning to attend Parkland in the fall. The deadline to apply is April 5, 2024. Go to Parkland Scholarships to apply. (updated Feb 2024)

Paul Brumaghim Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship is named for longtime Shelter Agent Paul Brumaghim from Danville. Paul was a tireless supporter of the Insurance Industry and was a mentor to many of us. We will award at least (4) $500 Scholarships this year to deserving High School Seniors who plan to major in Insurance, Finance, Business or some other field related to the Financial Services Industry in College. Piatt Country VFW Scholarships - Piatt County VFW Post 5346 proudly announces a new scholarship opportunity for Piatt County residents who will be graduating in 2020, and we are also awarding high school seniors who are planning to join the military in the near future a cash award as well. Presidential Scholarship (Lake Land College) - This scholarship is a tuition waiver scholarship awarded for a maximum of two consecutive calendar years beginning with fall semester as the first enrollment period. Students will be required to pay fees. Eligible students must graduate within the top 15% of their senior class or have an ACT composite of 26/SAT total score of 1230 and reside in LLC district or graduate from a high school in LLC district. SBL Lloyd & Selma Sweeney Scholarships - Scholarship Opportunity specifically for graduating seniors attending high school in Coles or Douglas Counties who are pursuing degrees in either Agriculture or Healthcare, or a Healthcare-Related Field. Please read the Eligibility and Requirements page, complete the Application and submit additional required paperwork. Each scholarship totaling up to $5,000 will be awarded to graduating seniors in Spring 2021, to be used for the 2021-2022 School Year. Deadline March 1, 2022. (updated Jan 2022)

SBL Volunteer Guild Scholarships - The Sarah Bush Lincoln Volunteer Guild Scholarship program is offering scholarships to students in the healthcare field. In order to meet criteria, students must be an Illinois resident, be enrolled or accepted into a hospital-related healthcare professional curriculum, attending a school that is accredited or recognized as an approved program by the appropriate agencies. There is also a GPA requirement of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. 2023 scholarship applications can be downloaded here. All completed scholarship packets must be received or postmarked by April 15, 2023. South Central Careers in Ag Scholarship - Seniors pursuing a two year degree in agronomy or related crop production degree are eligible to apply. Scholarship covers all tuition and fees to a junior college of your choice. Student must work for South Central for 24 months following graduation, maintain a full-time course load and a 2.4 GPA. If employment is terminated during the 24 month period, all scholarship monies must be refunded. For more information go to South Central Scholarship Program website. Steve Finke Memorial Scholarship - There is no application for the Steve Finke Memorial Scholarship. The family will decide each year if they wish to present one or more scholarships to members of the current senior class.

Thomas Dixon Memorial Scholarship -This scholarship, given by the Kirby auxiliary, is to be applied toward tuition, fees, board and room, or books. It will be given to a qualified student of Piatt County, Illinois, who is pursuing a field of study in health careers. Any student currently enrolled in or accepted into a certificate or degree conferring health care sequence is eligible to apply. Schools attended must be accredited or recognized as a legitimate institution, but need not be a school in Illinois. Application Scholarship deadline is March 20, 2024. (updated Feb 2024)

Thomas H. Moore Illinois Electric Cooperatives (IEC) Memorial Scholarship Program - Thirteen $2000 scholarships are awarded annually. If your parents use Coles-Moultrie Electric and you meet the following criteria you may be eligible. Scholarships are awarded based on grade point average, college entrance test scores, work and volunteer experience, participation in school and community activities, biographical statement and knowledge electric cooperatives as demonstrated by a short essay.
