On Monday evening at 6:30 p.m., ALAH will be hosting Nadine Machkovech in the High School Cafeteria.  Nadine was an honors student in high school set to graduate early and head to college, who was battling an opioid addiction, fighting to not end her life and never felt good enough. Nadine is a a certified recovery coach and person in long-term recovery. As an educator on addiction and mental health, she is on a mission to positively disrupt the current landscape for adolescents, especially young women, across the country. Check her out here..Nadine Machkovech to read more about her and her work.  This is a free event and open to parents, students, and  community members. This is being brought to us by Marisa's Purpose Faith, Hope and Love Charity founded by Connie Gyorr.

And on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m., Arcola HS will be hosting Tim Ryan.  Tim will be speaking to all Douglas County high schools on Tuesday morning and to the junior high schools that afternoon.  This event is for parents and students. Information may be found on Mr. Ryan’s presentation at Tim Ryan.

Partnering with our parents and community members is an important piece to fighting drug addiction in our schools and communities.

We would encourage all of you to join us at these events.
