Dear Parents,

Thursday, Nov. 1st will be the date of this year’s Fall Festival. The students will be rehearsing at Heritage High School in Broadlands. This has been an excellent opportunity for our JH Band students and this year Mr. Wood, the new ALAH HS Band Director will be joining us adding the Arthur and Lovington JH Band students. This will increase the size of the Band and is an improvement that we are very much looking forward to.

We will be leaving Atwood by 10:30 and will be going to the McDonald’s in Tuscola for lunch. Students will need to bring money for whatever they would like to purchase at McDonalds. When we are finished we will board the bus and drive to Heritage HS in Broadlands.

The schedule for the day will be as follows:

  • 12:30    students will begin seating
  • 1:00      begin rehearsal
  • 3:10      snack break
  • 5:15      dinner break
  • 7:00      concert

The host school usually has snacks available for purchase. We have not been given a price but if you would like to send money with your son or daughter there should be snacks available for purchase. If students would like to bring their own snack and something to drink that would be fine also.

I have not been told what the supper choices are yet, but I will make that information available to students once I receive that information from our host director. That meal is usually paid for by the Music Department.

Students will also need to bring a change of clothes for the evening concert. Dress shoes, slacks and a shirt and tie are appropriate for gentlemen. A tie is not required but a neat, tucked in dress shirt is advised. Dresses, skirts and blouse or dress slacks and a blouse with dress shoes are appropriate for the ladies. I am always so impressed with how nicely our students dress for our performances and I’m sure this year will continue our excellent tradition. Thank you for all you do to ensure that our students look as well put together as they do.

I will have a sign-out sheet available after the concert. If you would like to take your son or daughter home rather than sending them home on the bus, please make sure you sign them out so that we know that they are accounted for. Arrangements will also need to be made to either bring their instrument home or for someone to bring it back to the school.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at harveyt@cusd305.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Harvey
